Thanks Settledgirl, she is still in hospital, her fluids keep producing and then she is losing them but baby is doing fine. She is allowed to move around, so it’s not complete bed rest. They might let her go home on friday, she will just have to take it easy. Longer baby stays in better chances he/she will have. Baby is also currently breach so unless he/she turns around she will have to have c-section.

If you can only have sex around ovulation then you definitely should have sex day of positive opk and the next day because you ovulate 11-48hrs after positive opk and sperm should be waiting there. Always it’s better to also have it before and after in case the surge is the false one. If you don’t track then you should have sex every 2-3 days as soon period is over up until pretty much it is due.

I agree with Angela settled girl. I was always told have sex every other day leading to ovulation but a day or so before due and a day or two after positive opk to have sex every day.

Angela that's great news that she might get to go home and hopefully baby moves into a better position.
Yes so with tesco I get 6 weeks full pay, 8 weeks enhanced, 11 weeks half pay or statuary whichever is higher and then the rest is statutory. I will get a letter after 24 weeks that will tell me exactly what I get. Today we got our move in date of the 5th so today I've started to pack a few things like the baby clothes we have and been getting rid of things we really don't need. Going to take my spare injections and sharps box back to the hospital tomorrow which is making me a bit emotional.

Ahh so it’s slightly different. I will only get statutory, so first 6w full pay then up to 9m statutory as it’s less than i earn and last 3months nothing. Not great but still will be taking full year off. What about you?

Yeah we can take 3 months off unpaid too. I'm not sure about that yet she said I have time to decide about that. We are doing split maternity so I'm having 6 months and my OH is having 3 months then I may take the extra 3 depending on situation. We get 20 keeping in touch days so I've said if I can take all 20 instead of 10 each I will take the extra 3 months and use them to do the odd shifts. My OH is looking for a new job once he's on his time off so I can be home more with baby and concentrate on my business. So hopefully when I do go back to work il only be doing my 8 hours a week

Hi ladies how you all doing?
Angela how is your SIL doing? Has she been allowed home?

So update from 20 week scan. Baby was fine all through and measuring big on all parts at around 60th percentile. Although there was a problem with his heart. One of the vessels on the left side was looking smaller but the scanographer can't diagnose and can't say what's definitely wrong so waiting to see a specialist on Tuesday. There is a chance on Monday that we get a call and get asked to go in that day but there was no one in fetal medicine when they went up to check. They have put a note in my notes to say that she suspects HLH syndrome but been told not to worry or Google it which is killing me but I know it's for the best.

Oh I never heard of it but hopefully all will be well Ria! We got private reassurance scan tomorrow just to check up on the baby. But feel ok about it as I heard a heartbeat on tuesday when saw midwife.

My SIL is doing well. She went home today. So she just needs to avoid infection and take it easy. She can’t go back to work as it can be physical (she is vascular sonographer in nhs) but she might be able to do some desk job maybe. She will also have to go to hospital for regular check ups and scans. She is hopeful to carry until 37w and she has only slightly higher chance at going into labour than a healthy pregnant woman with no issues. Baby keeps producing waters and then she keeps losing them but baby is fine and happy inside. If I was in her place I probably would of stayed in hospital but that’s probably because I have had such bad experience with getting where we are now.

Hey how is everyone?
Angela how's the pregnancy and how's your SIL doing?

So I've not been on for a few days as been trying to get my head round things. On Tuesday we had confirmation that our little boy has hypoplastic left heart syndrome (also known as half a heart) we have at the moment decided to keep going with the pregnancy as he's doing really well and go down the surgical route which will mean the 3 of us basically living at the hospital for his first year. We could come home for short periods of time in between his first and second op but not many do. We are having the amino test on Tuesday to make sure there is nothing else as we need to make sure we're giving him a good chance in life and not just being selfish.

The good thing is he's healthy and safe while I'm pregnant, I can still carry him to term and will have an induced labour. That's due to the fact we will deliver him at one hospital and be transported to another within a few hours. As long as I can deliver him naturally then we all can go over together but if I have to had a c section then dad and Leo will be transferred without me until the say I'm well enough to join them. Just want to add our hospitals have been amazing so far and we're lucky to live close to one of the best heart hospitals in the country. Also if you ever need them the little hearts matter charity are amazing the have gave us a book on his condition so we can prepare and offer extra support in different ways and try to make sure you have considered and got everything ready before he's here.

Oh I am so sorry Ria. I hope all works out well, just do whats best for you and baby and take it easy. When will they induce you? My cousin had surgery on her heart when she was born and she is a thriving teenager now.

I am good thank you, 18 weeks and currently waiting for keys to our new house as we are moving today! My SIL is also doing good. They did let her go home but today they saw a consultant and because of the cord positioning they are gonna keep her now in hospital until she gives birth. All is fine it’s just as soon she goes into labour they need to do c-section in matter of 10min and can’t waste any time. But apart from that her waters broke 2 weeks ago and baby is still happy staying inside and cooking. She is 29 weeks on monday and hoping she can last at least until 34 weeks.

Things change so quickly. My SIL was taken for csection tonight and she has given birth to a baby boy weighing 1.2kg. Both are doing well so far and hope it stays that way.

So glad both are doing well Angela and a great present for her on mothers day. I hope they both continue to do well and that they are home as a family as soon as possible.

Didn't realise how close in pregnancy we actually are, I was 21 weeks on Saturday. They are inducing me around a week or 2 early as they said the longer he stays in the better and I can still have a natural labour just need to be induced so both hospitals are prepared. I was told last week by my midwife she has another women going through the exact same thing and we both had our scans around the same time, until then she had never heard of it. It's the rarest and worst heart condition anyone can be born with but he can do it and I just know that he will continue fighting.

We move to our new house on Friday and it's making me feel very emotional as we have made the choice to not set up his nursery. I just think it will be too hard even if he does do really well it's going to be a long time before he uses it and it will just be a constant reminder. I know I shouldn't of but wanted to make sure my partner is speaking to someone as he won't really go into depth with me about a lot of it, he has been talking to his cousin and said he's going to stick by my choice but he's not sure if putting him through he surgery is the best option and think he has it in his mind that we will loose him either way. It's just hard cause I'm the one that's still feeling him kick away whilst all this is going on and the more I think about it the more I know that even if they say something comes back on these tests I just can't let him go

Oh Ria, I wouldn’t give up either. It can be corrected with the surgery so all you can do is just believe and hope he makes it through. I probably wouldn’t set up nursery in these circumstances then either but it doesn’t mean that you are losing hope. When do you get test results?

Ria perhaps you can find some support and other experiences in the fb group for that syndrome. My friends is part of the WPW syndrome group ( her boy has that) and it has been great support for her.

Thanks Missdyan, for 11weeks premature baby he really is doing very well. My pregnancy is going fine, baby’s movements are becoming more noticable and frequent which is great.

How are you?

We got to meet our new nephew today. He was sooooo tiny! He could easily be held in one male hand. But very cute. Got to stroke his back and it was the softest thing i ever have touched. He is doing so well too and he manages to breath on his own too for few hours a day.

How is everyone else?

How did your move go Ria?
