Yes, Surrey. I think I'll call my GP tomorrow then and see if they can give me a contact number. I thought maybe they were waiting for me to reach 8 weeks. Although the GP didn't mention that would be the case. Can't wait to get it all officially confirmed. I'm not having many symptoms so doesn't feel real to me yet.

I'm Scotland but midwife said to me this morning that they've taken the first contact away as most home tests are more reliable than NHS ones so I'm not confirmed by a doc, & wont be till end of the month (7wks). She said a couple of positives was proof enough :)
I've got a sicky feeling but nothing major, but def doesn't feel real yet - but I only found out yesterday haha. Let me know how the call goes tomorrow :) x

I got the number for the midwife from my GP, called them and left a message. Hopefully they will call me back. I did get a letter from the mail, the hospital booked my 12 weeks scan for 18th September :)
Talking about positive tests, I tested 3 times and all positive, after a week I tested again twice and still positive. The lack of symptoms is making me want to test more lol

Oh that's exciting!! How does it feel to have a date?! I sometime have brief times where I don't feel anything so I totally get the need to test haha! My exercise classes have become a little harder, especially temperature wise lol x

I don't think your first appointment will be for hearing a heartbeat? I don't think you can hear a heartbeat until 11/12week? Charlie could maybe help out here? :) x

You can hear a heartbeat after 6 weeks with an internal scan. I heard mine for the first time at 6 wks 6 days. Best of luck ally. I hope everything is ok.

I don't think we're so lucky in the Uk. Our first appointment here is just to have blood test to confirm things (7wks ish) then it's the scan/heartbeat & 12 weeks - from what I believe, Kroy am I right? Haha xx

I was only scanned that early as I was already undergoing treatments. But I'm sure they will scan if they have concerns at the early appointment.

Yeah I'm sure I'll have a transvaginal - I did at my first appt with my last pregnancy at about 7w.
I've already had three sets of bloods but as jmc said we're monitored a bit more closely if under a FS. with my first I only had confirmation bloods with my gp then first appt with the OB as I said at around 7w. Oh plus a dating scan privately at 5+6 because I'm irregular and they didn't know how far along I was as I wasn't on fertility treatment back then.

I'm sure my experience isn't the norm even in Aus, it's much less involved if you're low risk/using public instead of private Drs.

Thanks Ally I never know the name of those scans! I always say internal but that sounds far more dramatic than they actually are!!!! It's def not the norm here (I'm in Ireland) I have paid for everything privately!!

I've only had transabdominal my entire pregnancy! No transvaginal at all!

I don't think you can see much with transabdominal before 9/10 weeks. It's really only if you are being monitored for something that you would get them. Some conditions make you higher risk in the first 12 weeks. I was scanned every two weeks from 6wks 6days to 13 weeks. But like we said it's def not the norm!! It's both reassuring and worrying being monitored so closely.
