Pregnancy&the implant
« on: September 06, 2018, 04:32:12 AM »
I have had the implant for over 3 years now.
I haven’t gotten round to having it taken out and foolishly had unprotected sex post 3 years being up.
Does anyone know if the implant still gives protection after the 3 years is up?

I imagine there is still some protection left just not as effective.

there is still a small amount of the hormones being released, but this makes you at more risk of having an ectopic pregnancy if you fall pregnant while it is still in situ as it is not now giving you full protection, You need to be using another form
of contraception & make that appointment to get it removed & replaced asap
