First ultrasound
« on: February 16, 2019, 01:36:14 PM »
Lmp was 12/25 so I should be 7 weeks and a few days.. I had a emergency scan yesterday due to bleeding and cramping (DR thought it was a tubal pregnancy but it’s in the correct place) and baby measures 6w0d with no heartbeat detected. I know at 6 weeks a heartbeat isn’t always detected but Does that sound right for what it’s measuring- a week behind?  Do they not add your period week into the calculation made via ultrasound? There was only 2 dates we were intimate 1/2 and 1/29. So it’s not like I could’ve conceived much later in my cycle.

Although it is not unusual to measure behind lmp there are no weeks added to the scan. It is all worked in. It’s a bit tricky really this early on. It could be that it is just too early to see heartbeat or it could be bad news. In this case all you can do is wait another week and have another scan, you should have a definite answer then. Sorry that this is stressful!
