TTC / So depressed
« on: April 17, 2017, 10:00:53 pm »
I can't stop crying. A few years ago I went a few months w/o af and now the same thing happened but longer. Normally my cycles are 28 days long. My last period was at the end of November and it just came today. I was so hopeful. I've been ttc for YEARS. I'm so upset.

Any baby aspirin success stories?
What dosage did you take, how often, and for how long?

TTC / Clomid
« on: April 11, 2017, 01:46:35 am »
As many of you know, I've been ttc for a number of years now.
I've tried practically everything except ivf and clomid.
I'm very curious about clomid and I feel that it's time to finally try it, since nothing we've done has worked for us.
For those of you who used clomid, what dose did you take? Did you start off with a certain dosage and then increase?
How long were you taking clomid?
Did it work for you? Did you conceive? If so, how long did it take?
Did you have any side effects from it?
Thank you for any answers!
:) xx

Other / Sleeping position?
« on: April 06, 2017, 02:55:35 pm »
The reason I included "other" as an option is because I personally sleep sort of on my stomach, sort of on my side, if that makes sense. I can't sleep completely on my side with both knees bent, I have to have one straight and one bent with my knee touching the mattress. I suppose my sleeping position is a little hard to describe lol.

Welcome / where are you from?
« on: April 06, 2017, 02:40:03 pm »
periodstuff made a poll like this back in '13 and I decided to make a new one. I currently live in the US (Michigan), but I hold my dual citizenship with South Africa and Canada. 90% of my family lives in South Africa, but some moved elsewhere - Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Wales, and England. Only one of my sisters and my parents live in the US. So.. where are you from originally? Where do you hold your citizenship(s)? Where do you currently live?

Put about 1/4 cup of almond milk, a small container of chobani vanilla yogurt, about 1/2 a cup of oats (don't cook them), a banana, 3 ice cups, and a handful of blueberries in a blender. It's SO good.

Home & Lifestyle / Pot Roast Recipe
« on: March 17, 2015, 04:38:08 pm »
I'm making a pot roast for dinner and I thought I'd share my recipe with all of you! I think I'm going to try to post my recipes on here daily :)

-Ingredients:
-3 lb chuck roast
-olive oil
-1 lb of baby carrots
-1 lb potatoes (peeled & cut into large chunks)
-1 onion (peeled & cut into large chunks)
-1 cup of chicken stock (you can also use beef broth but I was out of it)
-1 tablespoon corn starch

Seasoning mix:
-2 tbsp steak seasoning
-1 tbsp kosher salt
-1 tbsp dried thyme
-1 tbsp dried rosemary

Directions:
-Combine the seasoning mix in a small bowl and set it aside for now.
-coat the meat with olive oil (I'm quite generous with it! And I rub it in with my hands!)
-Sprinkle 1/3 of the seasoning all over the meat.
-Sear all sides of the meat on a skillet over medium-high heat and then transfer it to a slow cooker.
-place all of the vegetables into a large bowl and drizzle olive oil all over them. Sprinkle the remainder of the seasoning all over them. Transfer them to the slow cooker. Then pour the chicken stock (or beef broth) over everything.
-Cover your slow cooker with the lid.
-You can either cook on low heat for 9 hours or high heat for 6 hours.

-Now to make the gravy!!! Using a turkey baster, retrieve most of the cooking juices from your slow cooker. Transfer the juices to a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat on the stovetop.
-whisk together the corn starch with a little bit of water. Blend this mixture into the juices that you have simmering in the pan (blend while whisking).
-Bring back to a simmer until thickened.
-Transfer the roast & vegetables into a large platter and ladle the gravy over.
-Serve immediately and enjoy!! :)

TTC / Ovulation spotting
« on: March 01, 2015, 07:18:51 pm »
It's so weird how our bodies are constantly changing and undergoing new things throughout cycles, isn't it?
Today is cd 13 and today and yesterday I had spotting (only enough to be noticeable when I wipe). I took an OPK this morning with my FMU a which was negative. It must be my body telling me I'm going to be ovulating in a few days. This is the first time ever that I've spotted mid-cycle for ovulation. Has anyone else spotted days BEFORE ovulation? I use the Clearblue advanced digital OPKs so when it's negative it has a plain circle, then when I'm nearing ovulation there will be a flashing smiley face and then on O-day it's just a solid smiley face. So I won't be ovulating for about 4-5 days (which is weird because I typically ovulate on cd 15 so this month I'm ovulating late) so does anyone else spot 4-5 days prior? Or is it usually the day of ovulation for you? Like I said, this will be the first time I've spotted anywhere near ovulation. I usually only spot when my period is ending.
I've been taking Fertilaid for Women, FertilCM, and OvaBoost and so it could be the supplements causing this, as I've read lots of articles saying that spotting during/before ovulation is a sign of fertility. But so early before ovilation? Hmm, perhaps I already ovulated, maybe yesterday. This could be a good possibility.
Thanks ladies!
Xx

Relationships / The great idea that Kaleb and I are doing!
« on: January 24, 2015, 03:34:45 am »
We have each written out 6 coupons to give to eachother. I won't go into detail on what each of my coupons say, but I'll tell you briefly - "take me out to a nice dinner", "make me a romantic candle-lit dinner at home where we both get all dressed up", "full body massage with a happy ending", "take me out on an ice-cream date", "buy me flowers and chocolates", and "movie night". So far I've used both of the dinner ones. This is a great way to spice things up! Let me know if you try it and how it works for ya  :)

TTC / Feeling very embarrassed and hopeless
« on: January 19, 2015, 06:01:09 pm »
AF showed. She was supposed to start on the 15th and she started this morning. I feel embarrassed that I even thought that there could be a possibility. I subconsciously got my hopes up whilst trying not to at the same time. I feel so drained, I'm so sick of my body playing these tricks on me. It's been 5 months since its played these games with me and I fell for it once again :(
Sorry for such a down and depressing post

TTC / Question about the Glow app..
« on: January 18, 2015, 05:46:20 pm »
the app for some reason will not accept that I have not had my period this month when I was supposed to (on the 15th). It said to click on the period to edit/delete but it will not allow me to delete it. Any help would be appreciated!
